Lost, anyone?

So, here I am, like a young child standing in front of my new posession on Christmas morning, showing off my a poster from Nicole & Savannah. if you can't see, it's a group shot from the cast of Lost, ABC's drama about people on an island. She did a great job picking it out, i love the darkened images of each of the characters on the front and the tagline is just great, "Everything Happens for a Reason." Says a lot about the show and life and possibly the universe, for that matter, depending on what philosophies you subscribe to.

I happen to be a huge Lost geek by the way, I've been watching since day 1 and look forward to each and every episode of the show. I love the mystery and the ongoing plotline, as well as all the secrets and small easter eggs you have to pay attention to, all the way the characters are linked, and the events play out to reveal new layers of story but also pose new questions, and I love the characters. We've had five seasons to get to know them, grow with them, become invested in them and I'm totally hooked, never before had I grown so attached to a TV drama before, and now I talk Lost so much my wife wants to dump me on a deserted island probably.

But, i'd be remissed to not mention my affinity for the show here or the fact that the final season is about to start in 3 weeks. People are going to be looking for so many things and answers to all of their questions, but here's what i want to know, in case no one has followed the show reading this, or is trying to catch up on DVD, consider this a spoiler alert:

1- The mystery behind Jacob, the caretaker of the island, how old is he, how did he come to be there, what does he mean to the island, we finally got some clues in the season finale last year, but I'm starving for more answers, but he's come a long way from a voice in a dusty old cabin (that i believe was clearly not him but the person simply referred to as "the man."

2- Jack & Locke's final confrontation, you know it's happening, it's been a struggle of opposite forces for the whole show, with Locke representing mystery and magic and just believing in the forces out there and Jack, being a man of science and medicine, who's practical in his thinking, how will this play out, as we've seen Jack become more obsessed with the idea of destinies and future events being planned out.

3- what the hell happened to Claire? we know that will be answered this season, she wandered off into the jungle following her dead father, leaving her baby son alone. Kate has said that's why she came back and i'm looking forward to finding out what happened.

okay that's enough for now, Savannah wants out of her high chair, but rest assured I'm in total agreeance with President Obama that I will be watching on Feb. 2 to see how it all plays out.

Today was......

Today was a good day.

I spent the majority of it behind a desk, with a computer screen glaring back at me off the reflection from the sun, crunching numbers, working with the same two programs as the last 3 years. At least i had my headphones, listening to the long elusive album, Riot Act, the final piece to my Pearl Jam mosaic. Also blared some Abbey Road to lighten the mood. No, this wasn't the good part I was referring to.

We had to drop off Nicole (my wife, be hearing a lot about her) at work, we discussed Conan's late night plight among other domestic chatter, but alas, she had to go to work, leaving me with savannah to take a 30 min. drive home. Again, not the good part.

Being home with my daughter Savannah for quality time, that made my day. We pretended to sleep on the ground with her baby dolls, and fake snore. Then we ate Beef Lo Mein. After that she counted to six numerous times, broadening a smile already wide on my face. Six daddy! yeah, then we clap. 1 Nemo, 1 Cookie Monster, 1 Grover, 2 Babies, and 1 Big Bird, 6. I did a front roll in the living room as i pretended to chase her, she'd never seen me do it, and she got the biggest kick out of it. Now, she's in bed, we only got a little time together, but it was well worth it. Make the most out of it.

I'm beginning this blog to share experiences, keep up with friends the new technological way and to enjoy my awesome new laptop. our free HBO (for 3 months) plays in the background, The Incredible Hulk on the screen, Marvel Films' treatment, not the Ang Lee film, This one has it's problems as well, as the fights later become muddled, but the Norton charm is evident here as always, and Liv Tyler makes a good Betty. Tim Roth can play evil like no other, but not sold on Will Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross. I look at the clock after my random musing and it's almost time to go pick up Nicole, we're always on the run, picking up and dropping off, but we make those sacrifices so one of us is always home with savannah, andit's been tough, but I think it's been beneficial for her and us as well.

okay so the wheels keep turning and i'll enevitably be back for more words.
